The Night Goes Heavy Feather (St. Lucia)
"It is a song for the Swedish tradition Lucia, based on a story from Italy about a Christian girl who only wanted to serve God, but ended up having to gouge out her eyes to send them to a man who wanted to marry her. Every year on December 13th we in Sweden hold a ceremony in honor of Lucia, where Christmas carols are sung. In our tradition, Lucia is the bringer of light, the promise that daylight will return again.
