  • Strauss-Howe generational theory The Strauss–Howe generational theory, devised by William Strauss and Neil Howe, describes a theorized recurring generation cycle in American history and Western history. According to the theory, historical events are associated with recurring generational personas. Each generational persona unleashes a new era lasting around 21 years, in which a new social, political, and economic climate exists. They are part of a larger cyclical "saeculum". The theory states that a crisis recurs in American history after every saeculum, which is followed by a recovery. During this recovery, institutions and communitarian values are strong. Ultimately, succeeding generational archetypes attack and weaken institutions in the name of autonomy and individualism, which eventually creates a tumultuous political environment that ripens conditions for another crisis

  • I remember studying kondratieff cycles in economies and I'm a believer is cyclical rhythms. A curious one I read about involved culture and intellectual history. Some components of cyclic thought stages are "declarative - extensional - formulaic. Some knowledge is is discrete and serves as a set of principles = declarative knowledge. The bible and ten commandments are declarative knowledge. Upon a declarative knowledge base there is "extensional knowledge" The US Constitution is an extension of Judeo-Christian theological sensibilities with regard to unalienable divine rights etc. Currently we have a lot of peculiar formulaic "rights" that have the language of declarative and extensional knowledge but they actually break from those as originated in spiritual knowledge bases. Every day we seem to have superficial, new "rights" for one thing or another - faux-formula rights that are more like memes that are free floating and based on nothing substantive.

  • I ordered Government Gangsters in July and prepaid for it then. I still have not received it. I understand you don't run operations Steve but you command the boat so the responsibility is yours.

  • The 4th turning is caused by transiting Uranus return absolute. 45 years experience. Now accompanied with transiting Pluto return. Oh yeah, don't forget a biggy...transiting Saturn square Pluto 2029. Remember this, if you remember anything, APOPHIS. Interesting note of imminent concern: Opposition of Transiting Pluto from the 1st Amer Rev? Dropping of Nuclear bombs on Nagasaki/Hiroshima. Next Pluto opposition? Beware of APOPHIS point of timing. BEWARE of March and April 2029. 2029 ends kinetic war. Watch our enemies Of Christ from Dec 25, 2028 to March and April 2029 especially. We must endure APOPHIS timing. 6 months prior to it's flyby(?) and onward to finishing the war by Sept/Oct 2029.

  • I have read about but not read Strauss–Howe itself. It sounds interesting and I will try to read the book. How much is the Strauss–Howe generational theory akin to "the great man theory"? Is it possibly an extension of that theory? In either case, Strauss-Howe analysts might benefit from greater awareness of the work on cycles done through the National Bureau of Economic Research such as the body of work contributed by the late Victor Zarnowitz. Given the subject matter -- why and how a society changes/is changed -- it would be useful to understand why and how a society is formed, its on-going dynamic -- basically, how it got to the point that change is needed -- and why and how the society's cooperation and order break down. (Why do rational individuals change/rebel?) Economist authors whose work would contribute to a greater understanding include Gordon Tullock, James Buchanan, Mancur Olson, Jack Hirshleifer, Todd Sandler and Paul Collier. From political science see the work T. David Mason, David Laitin, Nicholas Sambanis, James Fearon and Havard Hegre. Sociologist Jack Goldstone has made invaluable contributions in related areas for decades. It is necessary to include the work of strategists as well, beginning with that of Donald J. Hanle, Thomas Thornton, William Lind and T. X. Hammes. The suggested works might help in overcoming criticisms about quantification and provable forecasts using established data streams and methods.

  • 🔸America's Transformative Moment🔸 We stand at a critical juncture—a Fourth Turning that demands more than resistance. It requires radical rebuilding. The Millennial generation must step forward to restore liberty and national dignity. Five Pathways to Renewal 1. Strengthen Local Communities Liberty begins locally. Empower neighborhoods, local governments, and grassroots initiatives to drive meaningful change from the ground up. 2. Revive Civic Patriotism Inspire a new generation to become stewards of America's core principles. Service, constitutional respect, and principled action are our weapons. 3. Lead with Adaptive Vision Leadership must balance strength with genuine understanding. Resilience meets empathy in the crucible of national renewal. 4. Protect Free Speech Create spaces for genuine dialogue. Ideas flourish when debate is unrestricted and critical thinking is championed. 5. Bridge Tradition and Innovation Honor foundational values while embracing modern solutions. Our future demands a dynamic synthesis of timeless principles and contemporary approaches. The Call to Action This is more than political transformation—it's a spiritual and cultural renaissance. Millennials are uniquely positioned to lead: respecting our past while courageously reimagining our future. The moment is now. We are not spectators, but architects of a reborn nation. Stand firm. Adapt. Act with vision.
