South Korean lawmakers impeached President Yoon Suk Yeol over his failed martial law bid, with the opposition declaring a "victory of the people." Under the constitution, Prime Minister Han Duck-soo, who was appointed by Yoon, became the acting president. The motion was passed after some of Yoon's People Power Party members joined the opposition, surpassing the two-thirds majority in the 300-seat assembly.
