Hydrogel Beads In Hot Pan | Screaming Beads

Hydrogel balls bouncing around in a hot pan. Can anyone explain why does this happen? Hydrogel beads bounce thousands of times per second on a heated surface, emitting a high-pitched shriek, and generating lots of kinetic energy.
