The Unsinkable Woman Surviving 3 Shipwrecks

In 1912, the Titanic was the largest and most luxurious ship ever built. Onboard was Violet Jessop, a 24-year-old stewardess. When tragedy struck, and the Titanic collided with an iceberg, Violet found herself in a lifeboat, watching the once "unsinkable" ship vanish beneath the icy waves of the Atlantic.

But here’s the twist: this wasn’t her first—or last—brush with disaster.

A year before the Titanic, Violet had been aboard the RMS Olympic when it collided with a warship in 1911. Miraculously, there were no fatalities. Then, in 1916, during World War I, she was working on the HMHS Britannic, a hospital ship, when it hit a mine and sank. Despite being pulled underwater and hitting her head on the ship’s keel, Violet survived yet again.

Three shipwrecks. One incredible woman. Violet Jessop truly earned her nickname: the “unsinkable stewardess.”
