Genius and Autism

Autism has been in human history for a long time. Without autistic people, the laws of gravity would not exist. The law of relativity would not exist. The Internet itself would not exist if it were not for the contributions of autistic people. If it were not for the contributions of autistic people such as Albert Einstein, Isaac Newton, Bobby Fischer, or Mozart; much of human innovation and creativity would simply not exist. The connections between genius and autism throughout human history is high. It is the lack of knowledge from the majority of humanity around autism that the behavioral challenges of autism get the majority of the focus. There is a reason autism is in the human genome; but the majority of humanity does not understand or value the contributions that many autistic people have made to humanity historically.

It is important to clarify and correct the misconceptions around autism, because without autistic people contributing to human innovation and creativity; human intelligence becomes stagnant and declines.

This is a problem even down into the elementary years. Many of the behavioral challenges associated with autistic children come from the lack of challenging material as well as bullying from neurotypical peers and teachers.

A society without autistic people loses the natural born geniuses of the society, because humanity loses the neurodivergent minds capable of thinking beyond the neurotypical functions.
