Syria's interim PM hails 'the birth of a nation' at Friday prayers

Syrians gathered at the iconic Umayyad Mosque in Damascus for Friday prayers on Friday (December 13), the first after Islamist-led rebels took control of the city following the ousting of Bashar al-Assad. Inside the mosque’s courtyard, some waved flags adopted by Syria's new ruling body, while others chanted in solidarity.
