The Oppenheim Zoo existed from 1943 until it was finally closed in 1988 due to ground water issues and a a pending lawsuit from the Dept of Agriculture involving the Animal Welfare Act. Essentially animals were playing too much in the mud since there were water drainage issues - which led to the closure of the zoo.
Corey Ann, Wynnie, and I plan to grid and detect every area of this park to find buried treasures.
Follow along with us on this video, which is part 2 of at least 6 hunts at this park!
