A Gift Worth Waiting For

What are you hoping for this Christmas? Have there been moments in your life when you hoped and prayed for something or someone so fervently but were left disappointed? Did you give up on your hope and stop praying? I did. And so have countless others through the annals of time. Many prayers are heard and answered by our heavenly Father and are graciously given according to His purpose and will. There is one glitch, however. We cannot determine nor bring about when our prayers are answered. God’s plans and timing are not in our control because we are His creatures, and thus, we depend on His goodwill. Our faith in the benevolence of Almighty God is tested by our willingness to wait and to persevere during the waiting period. James 1:17 says “Every good … and … perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation or shadow due to change.” Because our heavenly Father loves us, we were given the greatest gift ever – Jesus, our Redeemer! His life, death, and resurrection demonstrated that Jesus is A Gift Worth Waiting For!
