‘Master stroke’ move for Trump to invite Xi Jinping to inauguration

University of Sydney Political Scientist Simon Jackman has labelled Donald Trump’s decision to invite the Chinese President to his inauguration as a “master stroke”.

US President-elect Donald Trump has invited China's President Xi Jinping to his inauguration next month and it is unclear whether the invitation will be accepted.

“He really put it on Xi Jinping; he is the one saying no now,” Mr Jackman told Sky News Australia.
