Rosalind Eleazar discovers her long-lost beau on a dating app in the trailer for Netflix‘s latest Harlan Coben adaptation Missing You.
The full trailer was released on Monday, starring Eleazar as detective Kat Donovan who specializes in Missing Persons cases. Eleven years ago, her fiancé Josh (Ashley Walters), the love of her life, vanished without a trace, and she hasn’t heard from him since.
Swiping profiles on a dating app, she suddenly sees his face and her world explodes all over again. Josh’s unexpected reappearance will force her to dive back into the mystery surrounding her father’s murder and uncover long-buried secrets from her past.
The five-part limited series will be arriving on Netflix globally Jan. 1, 2025 following the wild popularity of Coben adaptation Fool Me Once, which was Netflix’s most-viewed TV show this year.
Richard Armitage, Sir Lenny Henry, Steve Pemberton, Jessica Plummer, Mary Malone, Lisa Faulkner and James Nesbitt will also star.
Missing You is produced by Quay Street Productions, part of ITV Studios. Coben serves as executive producer through his company, Final Twist Productions.
In keeping with previous Coben adaptations, Missing You relocates the story from the U.S. to the U.K. Filming took place in and around Manchester and north England.

Harlan Coben (“Fool Me Once“) has a new thriller to captivate Netflix fans.
On Monday, Netflix revealed the full-length trailer for five-part limited series “Missing You,” which debuts globally on Netflix on New Year’s Day (January 1, 2025).
“Missing You” follows Kat Donovan (Rosalind Eleazar), a detective specializing in Missing Persons. For Kat, it’s not just a job. You see, 11 years ago her fiancé Josh (Ashley Walters) just up and vanished, and Kat hasn’t heard from him since. Until, that is, she sees his face on a dating app and “her world explodes all over again,” per the Netflix synopsis.
“Josh’s unexpected reappearance will force her to dive back into the mystery surrounding her father’s murder and uncover long-buried secrets from her past,” it continues.

The series also stars Richard Armitage, Sir Lenny Henry, Steve Pemberton, Jessica Plummer, Mary Malone, Lisa Faulkner, James Nesbitt, Marc Warren, Samantha Spiro, Matt Jay-Willis, and Rudi Dharmalingam.
The limited series is produced by Quay Street Productions (part of ITV Studios). Coben is executive producer through his company, Final Twist Productions; Nicola Shindler, Richard Fee, head writer Victoria Asare-Archer, and Danny Brocklehurst also executive produce. Guy Hescott produces; Nimer Rashed and Isher Sahota direct the hourlong episodes.
“Missing You,” like previous Coben adaptations, relocates the story from the U.S. to the UK. Filming for this one took place in and around Manchester and the North West of England. Coben is also the writer behind “Tell No One,” “Safe,” and “Stay Close.”
Coben’s “Fool Me Once” was the most-viewed TV series on Netflix over the first half of 2024. Per the streamer’s biannual data dump (Netflix hates the term, but it is what it is), “Fool Me Once” drew 107.5 million views, globally, from January through June. To put that huge number into perspective, the number 2 Netflix series during the six-month period was “Bridgerton” Season 3, which had a hair under 92 million views. Number 3 was “Baby Reindeer” with 87.6 million views. A pair of big Netflix movies, “Damsel” (143.8 million views) and “Lift” (129.4 million views), did even better by that general metric.

Missing You

TV
Netflix has unveiled a full-length trailer for its upcoming Harlan Coben series, Missing You, and viewers are in for an explosive thriller this New Year's Day.
Led by Rosalind Eleazar (Slow Horses), the series follows Detective Kat Donovan, whose life is turned upside down when she spots her ex-fiancé Josh (Ashley Walters) on a dating app 11 years after he vanished without a trace.
While the synopsis previously stated that his reemergence forces Kat "to dive back into long-buried secrets from her past", the trailer offers an insight into just what those secrets may be.
When Kat is approached by teenager Brendan, who explains that his mother is missing and only Kat can find her, he explains: "She said she was going on a trip with her boyfriend. This is the guy she went away with," revealing it to be none other than Josh!

"I need you to help me find Josh," Kat can be heard telling Stacey (Jessica Plummer). "I always thought he left because of my dad's murder."

There is plenty of drama ahead, as to be expected with a Harlan Coben series, with the trailer showing kidnapping, threats and lies coming to the surface – it's set to be an explosive January 1st!
The trailer concludes: "I don't know what kind of truth you're gonna find out there but I don't think you're gonna like it."
While many won't want to believe it, it isn't that long before January comes around, so there is plenty to get excited for!

In an exclusive chat with RadioTimes.com earlier this year, creator Harlan Coben teased a very "surprising" ending that even shocked him – and he wrote it!
He added: "But it will also really, genuinely move you. You're going to shed a little bit of a tear."
Star Richard Armitage also teased an exciting series ahead, describing it as a "page turning, nail-biting, addictive, box settable, bingeable show"
