How Come Jesus Never Said “I Am God Worship Me”?

Jesus knew exactly how to convey His divinity in a way that the first-century Jews could understand without causing confusion. To simply say, "I am God, worship me," would not only be misunderstood but would imply He was claiming to be the Father, which He clearly wasn't. Instead, Jesus used the language and context of His time to assert His divine nature as the Son of God, equal in essence to the Father.

In John 10:30, Jesus declares, "I and the Father are one." - This statement beautifully encapsulates the oneness of essence between Jesus and God the Father, affirming His divinity while distinguishing His personhood.

Jesus' actions and teachings further illustrate His divine authority. He proclaimed, "I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; no one will snatch them out of my hand" (John 10:28). - Here, Jesus claims the power to grant eternal life, a prerogative only God could possess, showcasing His divine power and authority over life and death.

The reaction of the Jews, who took up stones to stone Him for blasphemy, confirms that they understood Jesus was claiming divinity. They said, "We are stoning you, not for any good work, but for blasphemy, because you, a mere man, claim to be God" (John 10:33). - This response from the Jews indicates their recognition of Jesus' claim to divinity, equating Himself with God, even if it was not in the exact words modern skeptics might demand.
