In this episode of Heal the Broken-Hearted, Cherie Sheridan and Daniel Bobinski continue their conversation about what’s in our heart, focusing on the importance of forgiveness, repentance, and breaking emotional bonds that keep us stuck in pain. They delve into how hidden wounds, vows (even inadvertent ones), and unforgiveness affect not just our emotional health but also our physical well-being.

Drawing from the chapter “Heart Questions” in Cherie’s book Heal the Broken-Hearted, this episode emphasizes the need to release past hurts, forgive ourselves and others, and invite the Holy Spirit into the healing process for complete restoration.

Key Points:
• Hidden Wounds and Unforgiveness: Unhealed wounds can manifest in both emotional and physical ways. Holding onto pain from the past, including grudges and unresolved offenses, can even contribute to health problems such as arthritis and kidney disease.

• The Power of Vows: Sometimes, without realizing it, we make vows like "I’ll never forgive this person" or "I will never trust again." These vows hold us captive and prevent healing. Repenting of these vows is crucial to breaking their power.

• Forgiveness Starts with You: It’s important to forgive others, but one of the most difficult but necessary steps is forgiving yourself. Doing so can free us from the judgment we place upon ourselves and allow us to move forward into healing.

• Breaking Soul Ties: Negative emotional bonds or "soul ties" from past relationships and traumatic events can hold us back. Breaking these ties in prayer and asking for God’s healing is an essential part of moving forward. (See episode # 2 for an in-depth discussion of soul ties.)

• Inviting the Holy Spirit: After releasing pain and unforgiveness, it’s essential to fill that empty space with the Holy Spirit, ensuring that we are not leaving room for old negative emotions or spiritual influences to return.

• Living in the Present: Worrying about the past or future only burdens our souls. Learning to live in the present moment, trusting in God, and seeking His guidance is key to healing and peace.

• God’s Healing Power: The process of healing is unique to each individual. God may lead people through different paths, but His intention is always to heal, deliver, and restore.

NEED HEALING PRAYER?
Set an appointment with Cherie (https://ontrackrestorationproject.weebly.com/contact.html) if you would like healing prayer for emotional trauma or other spiritual needs. Please keep in mind 1 Timothy 5:18, "A workman is worthy of his hire." We ask you to inquire of the Lord as to what donation He would have you give for Cherie’s time and expenses. That said, if you cannot sow financially at this time, please don't let that stop you from setting an appointment!

Listener Challenge:
Take some time this week to reflect on past wounds or unresolved pain. Ask yourself: Are there any vows or unforgiveness that are keeping you stuck? Spend time in prayer, asking God to help you forgive and release any emotional or spiritual burdens. Allow the Holy Spirit to fill you with peace and healing.
