Israel Launches Nearly 500 Airstrikes on Syria, Attacks Airbases & Naval Fleet | Firstpost America

Israel launched about 480 airstrikes across Syria over two days, destroying almost 80 percent of the country's military capabilities. The Israeli military said it targeted Syria's fighter jets, missile launchers, air defence systems, and military helicopters. Meanwhile, Israel's Defence Minister Israel Katz said Syria's naval fleet was almost destroyed overnight. The Israeli Defense Forces have also confirmed that they are operating in Syria beyond the buffer zone of Golan Heights. Israeli PM Benjamin Netanyahu said he doesn't want to interfere in Syria's internal matters but will continue to destroy "Iranian military infrastructure" in Syria. Meanwhile, the war-torn country has been officially taken over by rebels, with Mohammed al-Bashir as its new caretaker prime minister.
