UN General Assembly votes overwhelmingly for Gaza ceasefire

The United Nations General Assembly overwhelmingly voted on Wednesday (December 11) to demand an immediate, unconditional and permanent ceasefire between Israel and Palestinian militants Hamas in the Gaza Strip and the immediate release of all hostages. Slovenia's U.N. Ambassador Samuel Zbogar said a ceasefire was needed to bring hostages home and due to the destruction in Gaza.
