We need God's Law
My mind is on this topic. Reposting to help others. I see the following insecurity in the "Christian" community all the time.
Respectfully, God's Law is good for Christians - not burdensome 1 John 5.3
"3 For this is the love of God, that we keep His commandments. And His commandments are not burdensome." We Love God's law and judgments like the Psalmist
Psalm 119: "47 And I will delight myself in Your commandments,
Which I love.
48 My hands also I will lift up to Your commandments,
Which I love,
And I will meditate on Your statutes."
*in my experience, condemnation/conviction (however you wanna spin it- is because of sin in someones life - This "conviction" is not the work of the devil, but of God's Holy Spirit - And "adultery" is not the same as being "late for dinner" when it comes to "sin" - God knows the difference and people do... trying to equate some heinous or egregious sin (murder, sexual sin, physcial recklessness, etc.) with a "small sin"/foible/human imperfection generally speaking, is honestly, ridiculous.
John 14 "8 And when He has come, He will convict the world of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgment:"
1 John eviscerates any thinking to the contrary.
And he said that obeying Christ gave us great Confidence and spoke of the contrast between those whose heart/inner being/ mind etc "condemnded" them and, those who had "assurance" keeping His commands. (1 John 3 Nkjv)
"19 And by this we [d]know that we are of the truth, and shall [e]assure our hearts before Him. 20 For if our heart condemns us, God is greater than our heart, and knows all things. 21 Beloved, if our heart does not condemn us, we have confidence toward God. 22 And whatever we ask we receive from Him, because we keep His commandments and do those things that are pleasing in His sight
1. From YHWH to Moses, to Jesus, to Paul, John, etc . they all preached God's law and judgment
2. All great preachers in the Reformation in the 1300s to 1500s, Puritans/Pilgrims in the 1600s, Wesleys and Whitefield in the 1700s Great Awakeing, 1800s with Moody/ Spurgeon, 1900s with Billy Sunday/ Billy Graham Martyn Lloyd Jones, preached God's Law and Judgment - and even said if you didn't emphasize them you are a false teacher and leading people astray
3. Justification and Regenartion

We can know others too!
1. Galatians 5. Ephesians 5. Matthew 7. Romans 1 . Revelation 21. 1 Corinthians 6 .
2. Romans 6 to 8 says we are no longer slaves to sin... We are of the Spirit, not the flesh!
3. Romans 8
. 7 Because the [c]carnal mind is enmity against God; for it is not subject to the law of God, nor indeed can be. 8 So then, those who are in the flesh cannot please God.
9 But you are not in the flesh but in the Spirit, if indeed the Spirit of God dwells in you. Now if anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, he is not His.
13 For if you live according to the flesh you will die; but if by the Spirit you put to death the deeds of the body, you will live. 14 For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, these are sons of God.
