20241208 212423 Tux Chases a Surprise

Tux was out for his semi-nightly walk through the neighbor's "yard" (his choice, not mine) when he encountered a surprise. Actually, it was a big surprise for both of us.

At 0:50 I was expecting him to pass through the fence but after I gave up waiting for him I returned to find him standing very still behind that fern until that first meow at 1:55, then another noise at 2:00 which, in hindsight, may not have been from him.

It didn't occur to me at the time that that time spent still was him watching something that I couldn't see....

I had to chase after him at top speed, so this was all of the footage that I got. Within a minute I found him up near what would have been our front door -- if that stairwell had been ours, which is wasn't because we were in a different part of the building.

This was the first time that he's even briefly bolted out of sight. Some level of panic ensued.
