Tibetan Sand Mandala Explained by Lama Chödak Gyatso Nubpa

The Venerable Lama Chödak Gyatso Nubpa Rinpoche offers an accessible explanation of the representations and symbolism within the mandala –and of the primary stages of accomplishing and dissolving the elaborate Rigdzin Duepa sand mandala. This talk also enables us to understand why the entire mandala holds the potential be viewed as “the dynamic expression of ones’ own wisdom and compassion”. This was recorded during the 2007 construction of the Rigdzin Duepa Sand Mandala at Lucy’s’ El Adobe, in Hollywood California. Lama Gyatso also offers an explanation of the benefits of constructing a sand mandala in general, and specifically at this unconventional location.
