12.08.24 "This Christmas Be the Crescendo of Lofty Inspiration"

This week the Workbook lessons, the titles, started getting longer. They will be 2 lines for awhile, then 3 for even a little longer. They come to a full crescendo of 4 lines on Christmas day with lesson #359, but return to 3 lines for the remainder of the month of December. I see this as a crescendo of lofty inspiration leading up to Christmas. I think this progression is important for several reasons.

One reason is this is ACIM's version of the traditional "Advent" season of the Christian church. This preparation for Christmas is our preparation for our own birth of holiness. "In this season (Christmas), which celebrates the birth of holiness into this world, join with me, who decided for holiness for you. It is our task together to restore the awareness of magnitude to the host whom God appointed for Himself." (OrEd.Tx.15.29) What else would healing be but restoring the awareness of magnitude to the Holy Child of God who had forgotten it for a short while?

Healing is always a restoration. Apparently that is what Christmas is all about. Notice that the quotation from ACIM talks about the celebration of holiness (and I love to celebrate – "WooHoo!!") being born into the world. It doesn't specifically say we are celebrating Jesus being born into the world, although it certainly wouldn't exclude that. This holiness is being birthed in everyone, in all of us. "The sign of Christmas is a star, a light in darkness. See it not outside yourself but shining in the Heaven within and accept it as the sign the time of Christ has come." (OrEd.Tx.15.102)

The Christmas star, the Christmas light is shining in the Heaven within us all. This is the healing message of Christmas. Dedicate yourself to living this message for the next 2 and a half weeks. That's what I intend to do. Live this message with me. Be the crescendo of lofty inspiration itself this Advent.
