LOGGING TRUCK / PICKUP ACCIDENT, 146 BLOCKED, SCHWAB CITY TEXAS, 12/09/24...

Logging Truck and Pickup Collision, Logs Spilled, SCHWAB CITY, December 9, 2024 - At approximately 9:20 am on December 9, 2024, an 18 wheeler logging truck (loaded with trees), driven by David Benjamin Yarbrough, 62, of Cleveland, was north-bound on US-146. As Yarbrough was nearing Schwab City Baptist Church, a gray Chevy Pickup, driven by Bonnie Hodge Foster, 83, of Rye, pulled out of the parking lot of Schwab City Baptist into the north-bound lane of traffic directly in front of Yarbrough. Yarbrough cut right in an effort to avoid the collision but still struck the back passenger's side of the pickup. The impact caused the 18 wheeler and the pickup to both lose control. The logging truck turned over on 146 losing its load of pine trees. Foster's vehicle crossed over the south-bound lane and left the pavement coming to rest in the grass. Allegiance Ambulance Service was dispatched to the scene along with the Livingston Volunteer Fire Department, Constable Marcello Rosario, Deputies from the Polk County Sheriff's Office, and Trooper Nick Hatton with The Texas Highway Patrol. Fortunately, there were no serious injuries. 146 was completely blocked due to the spilled logs. Foster is like facing a citation for failing to yield to Yarbrough. Clifton Chevrolet out of Corrigan was summoned to clean up the mess.
