New York City police are searching Central Park’s waters for evidence related to the fatal shooting of UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson.

The police scuba team is focusing on recovering the gun used in the crime.

Despite extensive searches, including at Fort Tryon Park and subway stops near the George Washington Bridge, no weapon has been found.

Authorities are still investigating the gunman’s motive and believe he may have left the city.

Speculation about grievances with UnitedHealthcare has surfaced, particularly after words like “deny,” “delay,” and “depose” were found on shell casings.

A backpack possibly linked to the shooter was found in Central Park, but it only contained a jacket and Monopoly money, NBC News has reported.
