MY MUM DIED AS A RESULT OF SIR CHARLES GAIRDNER'S HOSPITAL DIETARY PROTOCOLS AND MISUSE OF SECURITY!

Tad Krysiak was the sole carer for his mother Eugenia.
She was transferred to SCGH in mid-October to get treatment for her kidney disease.

He was advocating for her health throughout her stay but due to disagreements with her care was subsequently barred by the hospital.

His Mother had food allergies and there was a mistake in labelling a food to which she had as an intolerance into an allergy that limited her diet severely. The escalation from that was ridiculous and unnecessary. For over two weeks she was starved of nutrition, despite Tad advocating for his mum to receive it, even at his own personal cost. It was denied.

Eugenia had a sudden decline in her health which coincided with Tad's exclusion from the hospital , she would often call him for support feeling abandoned as he was no longer by her side. Sadly she passed away not long after.

These are the real-life consequences of decisions made by staff and officials in the Western Australian public health system. We no longer have a health system in this country, we have a pharmaceutical turnover system.

Tad's story sadly echoes across WA, we have a health system urgently needing an overhaul.

Funeral Blues by WH Auden, edited

Stop all the clocks, cut off the telephone,
Prevent the dog from barking with a juicy bone,
Silence the pianos and with muffled drum
Bring out the coffin, let the mourners come.

Let aeroplanes circle moaning all alone
Scribbling on the sky the message 'She is Gone'.
Put crepe bows round the white necks of the public doves,
Let the traffic policemen wear black cotton gloves.

She was my North, my South, my East and West,
My working week and my Sunday rest,
My noon, my midnight, my talk, my song;
I thought that mum would last forever: I was wrong.

The stars are not wanted now; put out every one,
Pack up the moon and dismantle the sun,
Pour away the ocean and sweep up the wood;
For nothing now can ever come to any good.
