Pump Cavitation
46
Aerated fluids, like unprocessed oil or carbonated liquids, can release dissolved gases under low pressure, exacerbating cavitation effects.
Low-viscosity fluids, such as kerosene or jet fuel, are particularly vulnerable because their ease of flow leads to rapid pressure changes within the pump.
Cryogenic fluids, such as liquid nitrogen or oxygen, are extremely sensitive to pressure variations due to their low boiling points, making them highly prone to cavitation as well.
Proper pump selection and operational adjustments are critical to managing these risks in applications involving these fluids.
