How to spot the non-obvious signs a child is drowning

The Fourth of July has come and gone, and we're now well into the summer months. This means that many of us, especially those with kids, are spending time in Michigan’s lakes, beaches, and pools.  Most kids LOVE playing in the water — my own included — but swimming can also be a very dangerous activity.  According to the Center for Disease Control and Prevention, drowning is the second leading cause of accidental death for kids under 15. Nearly half of all kids who drown do so within 25 yards of an adult. The signs can be easy to miss.
