Even the topic experts seem to be wondering what is going on. I won’t pretend to know more than them. Tonight I’ll share comments from outbound President Biden contrasted with Trump’s statement…a bit of history behind the CIA, Israel & why we’ve ‘always’ got involved when it comes to Israel…no matter what President is in office, they will always intervene…but who is directing them to do this & why?

But first, I’m going to share scenes from Gran Torino starring Clint Eastwood…a movie about a grumpy old white guy who winds up befriending his Hmong neighbors after he steps in a couple times to help after years of bitter looks back and forth. I think it’s a great movie to talk about before we get started with this conversation.

Mostly because Eastwood’s character pretty much ‘never’ says ‘the right words’…moreover, he’s so bitter about life & what he’s had to experience/witness, he more or less goes out of his way to be offensive as a shield from others…he fears or more apt…knows all to well about the pitfalls of ‘getting involved’…but circumstances throw these unlikely people together in interesting ways that are worth exploring before we talk about this subject…which has all sorts of ways it can be ‘miscommunicated’

I won’t pretend to be an expert in Middle Eastern Foreign Policy…I’m learning as I go. As I learn, I’ll share it with you, the best way I know how. There are many nuances to how this can be communicated. To be clear, I come at this topic with no bias towards any religions. I want to see the truth communicated as clearly as it can be. Absent of having visited the region myself…I’ll do my best to piece together the history from the ‘angle’ that I know…which is significant but I’ll remind you, I’m new to understanding many of these things & it will show. But I want us to be able to decipher truth from fiction among all the political rhetoric regarding Syria, Israel & the CIA’s role in their affairs.
