Aging: Renewal and Letting Go

In today’s show I pay a small tribute to my Mom and talk about how I am taking the generational torch forward and making strong decision to move past some of her limiting beliefs and refuse to carry forward to the next generation. She knew some of these beliefs did not serve her but she was caught in the web.

I know these self proclamations of self care and freedom would make Mom happy. She wanted the best for her girls.

Aging is a generational hang up in my family. I found a story, perhaps a myth about eagles and what they do as they begin to transform themselves as they age. I found the story to be very interesting. I wanted to share it with you too.

ME IN THE MIRROR

Who is that lady?
What’s with her face?
I’m embarrassed to know her
Filled with disgrace

Her body is different
So full and mature
How do I fix it?
How to be sure?

There has to be:
A tonic,
A prayer,
A WAR…

But what if I accept her?
What if I let go?
What if I welcome,
Unclench,
And Flow?

This is so hard,
But I’m willing to try.
She really deserves it.
