December 8, 2024, Matthew 1:21-23

Matthew 1:21-23, John 1:14, God's love shown through the humble birth of Christ. God revealed His desire to become intimately involved with people, as opposed to acting distant and detached from the world.
1 John 3:1, the Father wants to be with His children, because He loves them
John 15:13, the birth of Christ also revealed God's sacrificial love: to lay down His life to give everyone the opportunity to have eternal life with God. There is no love greater than this.
Matthew 1:21, God's mission for redemption (redeeming sinners), born out of love, to restore the relationship between God and man
Isaiah 7:14, Matthew 1:23, the prophecy of the Messiah came true: His son came, died on the cross, and was resurrected
Psalm 136:1, Jesus Christ's work on the cross sealed everyone's fate for all eternity (people/sinners everywhere today have the choice to accept God's mercy or refuse it)
