83 years ago on Dec. 7, 1941, a day which will live in infamy, Japan launched an attack on the U.S. Pacific Fleet at Pearl Harbor, Hawaii. The attack killed or wounded more than 3,500 American troops and civilians; severely damaged the fleet; and shocked the nation and drew America and the world into WWII.
The change of location from Sinai to the wilderness does not bring a change in the rebellious human heart. In Ch 11 the people rebelled; in Ch 12 two of the leaders rebel (Miriam and Aaron). Here leaders and people unite and choose a new leader to take them back to Egypt.Furthermore, the people say that the LORD GOD brought them out of Egypt for the sole purpose of abandoning them in Canaan.
So, these men were to explore more than spy. And this moment in the history of the Israelites is most pivotal. They go from marching to wandering. From being on the verge of conquering to waiting in the wilderness for a generation to die.
