Does God Love Me?

The essence of Christianity is grounded in the unfathomable love of God for His creation—us. I became man, not out of necessity, but out of an overwhelming, divine love. This act of love is unparalleled in human history, demonstrating that God's love is not about need, but about giving and sacrifice.

Imagine the Creator of the universe choosing to enter into human existence, experiencing all the frailties and pains of human life—from conception to death. This was not a requirement for an omnipotent God but a choice made out of love. The Bible vividly illustrates this:

John 3:16 - "For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life." - This verse encapsulates the motivation behind the Incarnation and the Crucifixion, love for humanity.

Philippians 2:7-8 - "rather, he made himself nothing by taking the very nature of a servant, being made in human likeness. And being found in appearance as a man, he humbled himself by becoming obedient to death—even death on a cross!" - Here, the humility and obedience of Christ in His human form are highlighted, showing His willingness to endure suffering for our sake.

Hebrews 2:17 - "For this reason he had to be made like them, fully human in every way, in order that he might become a merciful and faithful high priest in service to God, and that he might make atonement for the sins of the people." - This passage explains how Jesus' human experience enables Him to be our compassionate advocate and atoner for sin.

The crucifixion is the ultimate testament to this love. To be mocked, beaten, crowned with thorns, whipped to the brink of death, and finally crucified, all while fully aware of the impending pain and humiliation, underscores the depth of divine love. God chose this path, knowing the agony it would entail, because He loves us. He would rather endure such suffering than exist without us. This is Christianity's bold claim: there is no greater expression of love than to lay down one's life for another, as Jesus did for humanity.
