Lucy is my pet cat

To say my heart hurts would be an understatement. This cat had the best life and is such a huge part of our family. At 16 she was tired and was perfectly healthy right up until she wasn’t. She was the absolute best gift I have ever gotten❤️ And it’s a funny story about how she came to be mine, I’m sharing so every year I can laugh and cry when the memory pops up… I wanted a cat SO bad and my boyfriend at the time did not😅 We were out to breakfast at our favorite spot and there were kittens in the parking lot. I was trying so hard to get close enough to pet one and they were not having it. He made me a deal- if I could catch one I could keep it! Challenge accepted! I spent almost the whole day in and out of bushes, covered in dirt with no luck. And left without one… my determination and disappointment was very apparent. So the next day while I was working he took my daughter to adopt Lucy. She wasn’t a kitten but so tiny still. I remember walking into the house we rented (that didn’t allow pets😬) and seeing her for the first time. I could NOT believe it and was over the moon! She was the perfect addition and I was instantly in love. She has been along for every milestone. And we are going to miss her so much! I knew the day would come sooner than I wanted at her age, but really did not expect it to be yesterday…
