China Warns US Against Meddling in Taiwan Following President Lai's Trip |Vantage with Palki Sharma

China has warned the United States to stop "meddling in Taiwan" following a 20-minute call between former US House speaker Nancy Pelosi and Taiwan President Lai Ching-te. During the regular press briefing, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Lin Jian said, "We urge the United States to... stop meddling with Taiwan and interfering in China's internal affairs, and stop supporting and indulging Taiwan independence separatist forces." This comes after President Lai said that he is confident of a deeper cooperation with US president-elect Donald Trump. President Lai was on a Pacific tour with stops in Hawaii and Guam. This trip left Beijing fuming as it claimed Taiwan as part of its territory.
