Megalithic mysteries of the navel.

Important megalithic sites worldwide have been found to contain anthropomorphic figures cradling their navel with their hands. Gobekli Tepe in Turkey and the giant Moai statues on Easter Island both depict megalithic stones with arms and hands clutching their belly. In Europe, Kurgan steles have been found portraying the same gesture and in Greece, the oracle site at Delphi was once known to the Greeks as the navel of the world.

The navel is an energetic hub. In Taoist teachings, the navel or lower abdomen is the location of the Dan Tien and is the place where the immortal foetus is conceived. In Japanese Zen Buddhist tradition, it is the Tanden and is linked to the life force centre - the Hara. In Vedic records, the navel holds the Nabhi marma point and is associated with the Manipura chakra. In Western esoteric teachings, it is the location of the miracle birth, where the hero is forged in the fires of the internal blacksmith.

When we breathe deep into the navel and conserve and circulate the creative force we can activate the head centre and awaken the nervous system to its full potential.
