18 Wheeler Driver Arrested for DWI, Resists Arrest, LIVINGSTON, December 7, 2024 - Shortly before 8 am on December 7, 2024, Polk County Sheriff's Office Dispatch received a call in reference to an 18 wheeler driver who stopped his rig and was blocking the road on FM-1988 South (Next to Thomas Supply). The caller stated that the man appeared intoxicated and said that he was making a delivery to the hospital and was ready to unload it (right there on 1988). Trooper Nick Hatton with The Texas Highway Patrol was dispatched to investigate. Trooper Hatton arrived and had the driver pull his rig off the road. After speaking with the man, Trooper Hatton executed a field sobriety test. By all appearances the man was clearly intoxicated and couldn't seem to comprehend simple instructions. When Hatton attempted to arrest the man, he decided to resist (see video). After a brief struggle, the man was placed under arrest and charged with driving while intoxicated and is probably facing a charge of resisting arrest. The 18 wheeler driver's name has not yet been released. A heavy duty wrecker from Riley Wrecker Service out of Corrigan was summoned to recover the rig.
