This African Nation Wants Putin’s Stealth Fighter Jets and NATO is “Worried” | From The Frontline

There is one African nation that has been eyeing Russia’s Stealth Sukhoi 57 stealth fighter jets and that country is Algeria. Talks between Algeria and Russia began in recent years and the country has now reportedly placed an order for 14 Su-57 jets. Russia’s arms exports body, Rosoboronexport, has confirmed that one country has placed an order for the jets but has not revealed the name. However, several Algerian media reports say that Algiers has placed an order with Moscow. This comes as Algeria’s tensions with neighbouring Morocco escalate with Rabat growing closer to NATO and the West. Morocco has recently placed an order for F-16 Block 70 jets, ATACMS and Javelin Missiles with the United States. Algeria and Morocco are now engaged in an arms race as the two nations fail to reach a consensus on the Western Sahara dispute.
