Use of fireworks is self-defense, Georgia's pro-EU protesters say

With riot police using water cannon, tear gas and mass arrests to quell the large pro-EU protests dominating Georgia over the last week, demonstrators have responded with fireworks, hurling them at police and the imposing parliament building, where many thousands of protesters gather nightly. Two protesters who did not give their last name said using pyrotechnics is the only way to defend themselves against police violence.
