Tiffany Henyard, the current Mayor of Dolton, Illinois, and Supervisor of Thornton Township, was recently denied a place on the Democratic ballot for the 2025 Supervisor election. During a historic caucus—the township's first in decades—Henyard's nomination was invalidated because her slate lacked a certified assessor, a requirement for candidacy. Consequently, Illinois State Senator Napoleon Harris secured the Democratic nomination for Supervisor. Henyard criticized the caucus process as "illegal" and announced plans to pursue legal action against those involved. Despite this setback, she retains the option to run as a write-in or independent candidate in the upcoming election. This development adds to Henyard's ongoing controversies, including allegations of financial mismanagement and corruption during her tenure as Mayor of Dolton.
