Alien Abduction in Ontario

Abduction Experiencers: A rare case of mass abduction in Ontario, in which four musicians are abducted by aliens, on a service road adjacent to the Queen Elizabeth Highway. Thomas Campbell and three other musicians had just been paid for a gig they performed at at Alice's Restaurant in Jordan, Ontario. They were members of a community college freshman band. A stranger from the audience asked for a ride. Tom said yes, in a decision that may have been responsible for altering the next decade of his life.

Campbell began to suffer sleepless nights of chronic insomnia. He dropped out of school in his second year. Forced to give up his music, for the next eight years he drifted from job to job, until he read the book by Budd Hopkins, "Missing Time". He decided to seek the help of New York Doctor Aphrodite Clamar and underwent hypnosis to help him recall the missing events of that night in 1973.

After all the gear was packed into their Chevrolet van the young musicians took a service road running between Lake Ontario and the Queen Elizabeth Highway. Even though not used in the performance, Tom made sure his two Yamaha recorders were still in his backpack. The driver Guillaume saw some lights blocking the lane and came to a halt. Tom said, "What's going on up there?" G said, "I think you better come up here. Take a look at this." A large metallic disk was blocking the whole road. Guillaume said, "Look, it's opening up."

Before they knew it the alien beings closed the distance between their craft and the van. They were small. Their skin was the sickly white color of a mushroom, and their eyes were black bulbs. Tom smelled something sweet like the odor of aftershave, when he noticed the back doors of the van were wide open and one of the beings was inside their vehicle. Tom called this one, "The Captain."

Archer the drummer instinctively recoiled, knocking his snare drum out the back door. It crashed onto the road and everybody froze on both sides. Then the captain himself retrieved the fallen instrument. The alien's thin lips never moved but he directed his thoughts at Thomas, "Is it yours?" Tom said, "No, it belongs to Archie," and the face of the drummer grew pale, though his eyes were transfixed by the smooth gray skin of the alien.

Next they were led inside the saucer, single file, starting with the hitchhiker they picked up at Alice's and surrounded by the other Grays. Tom was wearing his backpack, as if he had not wanted to leave his Yamaha recorders behind. The captain could be heard giving an order. "Let him bring the bag." The interior of craft was larger than the outside and the members of the band were escorted into different rooms. Tom remembers lying on a table which was very cold and had the appearance of highly reflective chrome. He saw another table with surgical tools on it. Some of the tools were blinking with tiny lights resembling blue and yellow LEDs.

This must be what a Hippie would have felt like in the 1960's, Tom thought, because his awareness was fuzzy. Then he was fully dressed again and the captain told him it was time for them to part. Thomas heard himself asking a question, "Do you have any bases on earth?" The captain responded, "We have one under this body of water," and in his head Tom saw an upside-down picture of Lake Ontario.

Using hands with only three digits, the alien was handling one of the Yamaha recorders. "What is this?" he asked. "A musical instrument," said Tom. "I play this to entertain myself." "What is play?" the captain wanted to know. "You blow air into it," said Tom. "I have two of them. You can keep that one." Originally Tom had felt only warm feelings safety. But the stony face of the gray betrayed no sign of gratitude for the gift. Campbell was beginning to have second thoughts.

Tom Campbell last recalls waking up inside the van, traveling, without any memory of his close encounter. The strange hitchhiker was no longer riding with his troup. Only under hypnosis was he able to purge himself of the recurring nightmares which had plagued him for a decade. But he may never know if the stranger they picked up in Jordan had anything to do with his abduction by the Grays.
