Families who had been sheltering at a school in northern Gaza spoke with Al Jazeera while walking to Gaza City, after the Israeli military ordered them to leave one of the last evacuation centres in the north.

Some were crying frantically and asking for help.

Al Jazeera's Ibrahim Khalili met residents who've fled on foot, with the sound of constant Israeli fire overhead.
