RAISIN NUT COOKIES
1 1/2 Raisins 1 teaspoon Baking Powder
1 cup Boiling Water 1 teaspoon Baking Soda
1 cup Crisco 1 teaspoon Salt
2 cup Granulated Sugar 1 teaspoon Ground Cinnamon
3 Eggs 1/4 teaspoon Ground Cloves
4 cup All Purpose Flour 1/4 teaspoon Ground Nutmeg
1 cup Chopped Pecans 1 teaspoon Pure Vanilla Extract

Directions:
Bring water to a boil,
Add raisins and bring to another boil.
Boil for 5 minutes, do not drain the liquid.
Cool to room temperature.

Cream crisco and sugar together, 4-5 minutes.
Add eggs, one at a time.
Scrap sides and bottom and mix well.
Add vanilla, baking powder, soda, salt, cinnamon, cloves and nutmeg.
Mix well
Add cooked and cooled raisins, including liquid
Mix
Add sifted flour, when flour is nearly incorporated add nuts.
I usually hand mix in the flour and nuts.
Scoop out in small size balls onto a lightly greased cookie sheet.
Bake at 360* for 15 minutes.
