Sukhbir Singh Badal, Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) leader and former Punjab deputy chief minister, survived an assassination attempt at the Golden Temple in Amritsar on Wednesday morning. The incident happened when Badal and other leaders were performing ‘seva’ as part of the punishment given to them by Akal Takht, the supreme temporal body of the Sikh community.
