You know those times when there are no words…only tears, groanings, sobbing, mumbling unintelligible words.
The Holy Spirit turns those tears, sounds, and utterances into prayers from our hearts to God.
The Holy Spirit helps us pray.
We are also to pray in the Spirit, as the Holy Spirit leads us to pray for someone or something…and guides us as we pray.
The Holy Spirit will pray for us and lead us to pray, so prayer begins in the Spirit.
And notice how often we are to pray in the Spirit… “always,” “at all times.”
Or, as Paul writes to the Thessalonians, “Pray without ceasing.”
To the Colossians, he writes: “Continue steadfastly in prayer.”
The NKJV says: “Continue earnestly in prayer,” and the NLT says: “Devote yourselves to prayer.”
In almost every New Testament letter, prayer is mentioned.
