Kris W. Kobach has served as the Attorney General of Kansas since January 9, 2023. Born on March 26, 1966, in Madison, Wisconsin, he was raised in Topeka, Kansas. Kobach graduated summa cum laude from Harvard University with a degree in government and later earned a Ph.D. in politics from the University of Oxford as a Marshall Scholar. He also holds a J.D. from Yale Law School.
As attorney general, Kobach has initiated several high-profile legal actions:

Lawsuit Against Pfizer: In June 2024, Kansas sued Pfizer, alleging the company misled the public about the safety and efficacy of its COVID-19 vaccine. The lawsuit claims Pfizer concealed information regarding potential side effects, including myocarditis and pregnancy complications. Pfizer has denied these allegations, asserting that their statements were accurate and science-based.

Challenge to Federal Healthcare Policy: In August 2024, Kobach led a coalition of 15 states in suing the Biden-Harris administration to block the extension of Affordable Care Act benefits to Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) recipients. The lawsuit argues that this policy change violates federal law and the ACA itself.
