UBISOFT Shuts Down XDefiant After 6 Months | AAA Gaming is Imploding

Ubisoft made the announcement they will be shutting down their free-to-play FPS game XDefiant around 6 months after the game launched.

XDefiant initially pulled in good numbers for Ubisoft, but over time the player base has abandoned it. Concurrently Ubisoft is also closing down several studios that worked on the title. Much of the problems plaguing Ubisoft are issues within the AAA gaming sphere as a whole since many studios are spending so much on their titles it’s becoming increasingly difficult to turn a profit. Ubisoft needs to understand they can’t continue along the way things are if they hope to be around in the future.
