This video will clarify the impact price and mix changes has on selling price and sales amounts. Using MS Excel, I show exactly how you can calculate this. We start with summarizing the sales data in a table to sum up units and amount sales in a summary table. We then calculate the average selling price at total and product levels. We then continue to calculate price, volume, and mix impacts. Once, we have the price, volume, and mix calculated. Finally, we also calculate how much of the average selling price change is due to price vs mix.
