Nearly 60,000 Illegal Migrants with Criminal History Call New York City Home | Firstpost America

More than 58,000 illegal immigrants who are convicted felons or facing criminal charges are living in New York City, according to a report published by the New York Post quoting US Immigration and Customs Enforcement data. These are 7.7% of nearly 760,000 undocumented migrants living in the city. The report also revealed that more than 1,000 "criminal" illegal immigrants are suspected or known gang members. Last week, top ICE official Kenneth Genalo said "it would take a lifetime to clear NYC of criminals" if the status quo remains the same. Republicans have blamed President Joe Biden's "lax" border control policies for NYC's current migrant crisis.
