Storm Shield Forecast morning update 7/3/18

After two days of triple digit heat here in the valley we'll try to do it again today with a forecast high of 100 in Bakersfield and air quality that is still high in the moderate range. A trough digging in over the west coast tonight into tomorrow will bring increasing winds and a push of slightly cooler ocean air just in time for the Fourth of July. That means you can expect plenty of sunshine for the holiday and a return to seasonal averages with a high of 96 in Bakersfield and better air quality. The moving air and a little more moisture will make it feel much better than the last few hot and hazy days! Expect temperatures to fall to the mid-80s tomorrow night at 9 p.m. for our valley fireworks shows.
