Black Bear Casually Strolls Alongside Cars Causing A Traffic Jam
It is not every day you see a black bear casually strolling alongside cars, but here we are! This big guy just wanted to take a stroll on the firm deforested part of his neighborhood and compare dirt path and highway quality. From what we can see in the video, this bear seems to enjoy and marvel at the invention of the road. Why haven’t nears think of roads first?
Bears are extraordinarily intelligent animals. They have far superior navigation skills to humans; excellent memories; large brain to body ratio; and use tools in various contexts from play to hunting. Bears were often honored in the cultures of many early civilizations. They were seen as a symbol of power, strength, and love. This is why we can freely presume these are the actual thoughts storming inside this black bear’s mind while it is peacefully strolling amongst the curious drivers safely filming and marveling at it from inside their cars. The black bear shows not the least sign of aggression, just an immense curiosity as if it has really come out from the forest to inspect the road or control the traffic. And, actually, that is exactly what this bear has managed to achieve: a traffic jam!
This goes to show you that members of any species can come from all parts of the aggressive spectrum, with some being gentle while others have the potential to be deadly. With that being said, your safety is always paramount and you should always be extremely cautious when dealing with potentially dangerous animals, bears especially. It'd probably best to just not to engage them in any fashion. This gentle giant just wanted some company while travelling and has ventured onto the busy road. It's got to love the awe and attention it has been given by the drivers.
Bears are known even historically to approach remote houses surrounded by forests and steal food. They are depicted in children’s books as cute fluffy chubby creatures typically sitting next to a beehive and having dipped one front paw in the sweet substance while the bees around are protesting. There are examples of black bears caught on camera targeting bird feeder. In the video, you can see how one bear approaches the feeder, which is set up high on an elaborate post and carefully begins to take the food out. Not happy with the amount of food tit is shewing with an open mouth, the bear begins to shake and turn the feeder, grabbing it with its front paws until it manages to rip it out completely and retrieve with it into the shrubs. Cheeky bear!
There are other sightings of black bears frequenting in civilization. And this mustn’t be considered unusual because we the people share our habitat with bears, especially in forested areas where black bears live. They have no other place to call home, with the exception of places like zoos and circuses which are not and cannot ever be called home to any wildlife species.
