HOW TO BREASTFEED COMFORTABLY IN BED//

In this video, you can see my technique for breastfeeding my nineteen-month-old toddler in a lie-down position in bed.

Breastfeeding in bed can be a really comfortable option - particularly as your child gets a little older - as it allows room for them to move around, and it also allows you to get a bit of rest while you're breastfeeding.

I always have a pillow under my head, and I also try to have a pillow behind my back for support, as well as a pillow between my knees for correct back and hip alignment.

Please place your child back into their cot or a safe sleeping place when they have finished breastfeeding. It is not recommended to sleep with your baby in the bed with you because of risk of suffocation.

I am a proud breastfeeding mother, and I am happy to be following the breastfeeding guidelines as recommended and supported by two of the most respected organisations in the world for child health and wellbeing - The World Health Organisation and The American Academy of Paediatrics.

You can read more about the World Health Organisation's breastfeeding recommendations, here:

I sincerely hope that by sharing my breastfeeding journey I can encourage other women to attempt and persist with, what can be at times, a difficult thing to do.
