Georgia: Protests Rage for Fourth Night Over Suspension of EU Talks | Vantage with Palki Sharma

In Georgia's Tbilisi, the police and protesters continue to clash for fourth consecutive night. Georgia has been rocked by unrest since the newly-elected Georgian Dream party announced last week that it was suspending talks on joining the European Union. Amidst the chaos and disorder, Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze has accused the opposition of "coordinated violence" aimed at overthrowing the constitutional order. The Prime Minister has also rejected calls for new elections. The United States and the European Union has raised alarm over the situation in Georgia, while also condemning the use of excessive police force. As per the critics, the ruling party's decision to put a halt to the EU accession talks has been influenced by Russia.
