Elon Musk Tries to Block OpenAI's For-Profit Conversion Amid Growing Legal Feud | Firstpost America

Tech billionaire Elon Musk has filed a motion to stop artificial intelligence giant OpenAI from converting to a fully for-profit entity. The motion would also stop OpenAI from allegedly asking its investors to refrain from funding companies that are direct competitors. Musk originally sued OpenAI, CEO Sam Altman and President Greg Brockman in March, alleging that they violated their agreement of keeping OpenAI's status non-profit. However, he withdrew it and instead brought a much more powerful lawsuit in a federal court in August. In November, Musk expanded the lawsuit to OpenAI investor Microsoft and other board members, accusing them of violating anti-trust laws. Musk is a former co-founder of OpenAI but left in 2018.
